EPW Chairman delays vote on Clear Skies

On February 16, 2005, the chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee delayed a planned vote on the "Clear Skies" legislation for two weeks (until March 2, 2005) to avoid an expected panel deadlock that would have derailed the measure. The chairman, Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK), postponed a vote on the measure after a short caucus of the panel's Republican members and Democratic Senator Max Baucus of Montana. Baucus and Republican Senator Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island are considered possible swing votes on the measure. A successful vote would send the proposed measure to the Senate floor. Below are the members of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.

More information on the Committee schedule and a list of all the Committee members can be found at the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works website.
