Inhofe to mark up Clear Skies in February

Senator Inhofe has announced plans to hold hearings on the Clear Skies Act in January and mark up the bill in February.  Inhofe also plans to work quickly on a major highway reauthorization bill, and will likely hold confirmation hearings on the new EPA administrator, if one is appointed before March.  (The current administrator, Michael Leavitt, has been tapped by the administration to head the Department of Health and Human Services.)  Some observers see very low chances of Clear Skies moving through the EPW committee in such a short time frame, but Inhofe's staff maintains that it is a strong possibility.
