In general, the activities of the Clean Energy Group (CEG) can be divided into four basic areas:
- Coordination of Strategic Action - Developing “ad hoc” teams to implement strategic advocacy efforts. These teams may vary
with the issues, depending on the situation and perspective of individual members.
- Regulatory Analysis Service - Providing a centralized source of information on environmental and energy regulatory
issues occurring on state, regional, and federal levels, through the publication
Environmental Energy Insights, bi-monthly regulatory updates on air quality and climate
change developments, and the Strategic Information Services website.
- Forum for Strategic Discussions - Facilitating meetings for members to discuss the implications of emerging environmental
and energy issues. Such meetings occur on a regular basis, including meetings with key
regulators, policymakers, and Congressional leaders. Members also participate in a weekly
call on timely topics, led by MJB&A staff or outside experts.
- Technical Analysis Assistance - An “on-call” limited response function for members focused on more in-depth understanding
of a regulatory proposal or on the implication for their specific business.
